Went and saw American Pie 2 with Poo and Ilzette yesterday, and I have to admit it was pretty funny. In fact, I was in stitches during more than one part, so no complaints there. When I got home, I thought I'd better balance the day's lightheartedness with an old favourite, so I watched Jaws.

Now, a lot of you are probably thinking: Jaws and American Pie 2? They're not so different! But consider this:

  • Jaws has no lesbian confirmation scenes
  • No bloodthirsty shark attacks happen in American Pie 2
  • At no time during Jaws does Chief Brody have a trumpet shoved into his butt
  • American Pie 2 has no marine biologists! Not one!!!

It was that last point that drove home for me the differences between the two movies.
