Another example arose today of the world giving in to stupidity.

We've seen it before. For example, labelling 'hot apple pies' with a warning about that fact that they're actually hot, rather than just expecting people not to be stupid and burn themselves.

In this case it was Channel Nine (oft referred to as 'Nein') apologising over the use of the word 'aboriginal' in the show 'Judging Amy'.

To Vic Reddy of Frankston, who is quoted in the news story as saying "I didn't like it at all," I'd like to say this: You, sir, are an idiot.

For those few who don't already know, saying that someone becomes 'aboriginal' when drunk is not a slur on the Koori people of Australia. 'Aboriginal' means 'primitive'! The fact that the word has devolved into a generic term for 'native Australians' is by the by! When something is described as aboriginal, it means that that thing is old, primitive, existed long before now.

So once again we bow to stupidity, and instead of educating people as to the real meaning of the word (and this was a good chance to do it), Channel Nein chooses to apologise.

Oh, and by the way: Caution - Filling is Hot.
