Xbox Fears
My Xbox 360 is starting to make me nervous.
More and more frequently it's freezing up on me. Generally as I exit an Xbox Live Arcade game (eg Catan), or as I try to launch one. Once it freezes I have no option but to turn it off and back on again.
A bit of browsing on the Xbox forums reveals that intermittent freezing is a sign that your console is headed towards the dreaded Red Ring of Death. Something that Euan has already experienced.
In a way, I kind of hope that it happens sooner rather than later. Just get it over with so I can send it away to get repaired. Microsoft seem to have a permanent solution to the problem nowadays - otherwise they wouldn't have extended the warranty for all consoles out to three years.
I know all of you are on the edge of your seat about my Xbox, so I will keep you posted.

There are some pretty wild claims about failure rates of 360s, maybe they are acurate?
It'll be interesting to see how mine goes, the chick from K-Mart said they'd only recently got that batch in for the sale they had, who knows... the only "freeze" I've seen looked like a logic bug in Catan because the game was still running but you couldn't do anything.
I've got Halo 3 ariving today, looking forward to some multiplayer.

Interestingly, I followed the advice of a forum post last night and moved my 360's power brick to a well-ventilated spot (atop the cabinet), and no freezes at all.
So perhaps it *is* an overheating problem, but in the power supply rather than the 360 itself. It was, after all, tucked away down on the carpet with not much room.
Fingers crossed, anyway.
