Xbox 360 Goings-On
This weekend I finished Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter on normal difficulty. Y'know, a few days after buying this I was seriously considering returning it. I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did. It turned out to be a really fun (if not a little stressful) game. When I finally get my RGB SCART cable for the 360, and therefore have 5.1 surround sound, I'll restart it on the "hard" difficulty level and see how I go.
Since I'm waiting for that, I thought I'd charge up my Xbox Live Marketplace account with some gamer credits, and purchased Geometry Wars for around $7 Aus. This is one frantic game! Things going on all over the shop. Think of it as Asteroids taken to the next level. Oh ... and if you're the sort of person who buys or hires 360 games just to get more achievements (and therefore gamer-points), don't worry about Geometry Wars. The achievements are just crazy! I've managed to score 100,000 points, which was the first achievement, and it only got me 5 gamer points.
While we're on the topic of all-things-Xbox-360: I have jumped ship and started using Transcode360 to watch DivX movies. It was worth changing from the product I was using ... T360 allows you to pause, fast-forward, rewind etc without having to back out into the Media Center interface. It's seamless, which is great.

oh, I was actually thinking Geometry Wars would be great... but forget that then...
I'll just use that $7 to go to blockbuster and hire a couple of games to get achievement points just for getting past the start menu :)
