Xbox 360 Achievements
Funkyj over on the Xbox World Australia blogs has posted a little rant about the "achievements" system on Xbox Live.
For him, it doesn't work so well because he jumps from game to game (being a reviewer), rarely finishing anything.
I wanted to post my own little rant about the achievements system in response. I do try to finish games, so I don't have Funkyj's problem. However, I did find one thing about the system fascinating:
I got as many points for completing the Ghost Recon training level as I did for rescuing the Mexican president!
Now, either el Presidente isn't considered by the G.R.A.W people to be all that important, or something's up with their distribution of gamer points! What do you think?

You think thats the issue? Have you seen how many more points I can win for getting through THAW than you would get with GRAW?
Seriously, these points need a little bit of a scale.
Wanna know my biggest beef with the point system?
They seem to judge it based on where you can get in the game - not on the difficulty you're playing at!
My POV is that they should issue points for each task, for each difficulty - bringing up the tallies exponentially for the harder you complete the tasks at.
Therein lies the true sign of a game addict - getting through a game on "Take one step and you're dead" difficulty.
That said, I'd never make use of it because I cant do much even on easiest!!
And yeah, my THAW kicks your GRAW anyday.
