Long Weekend Movie Round-Up
A quick summary of our movie-going activities this weekend:
The Omen: Quite good. Better than I thought it'd be. Having not seen the original, I wasn't comparing it as some movie-reviewers have, so maybe that helped. Man, that little kid was freaky. Good to see David Thewlis in a big (well, reasonably big) role again. I like him.
Cars: Pixar Perfect. Really enjoyed this one, despite the five-year-old girl sitting on her dad's lap in the seat to my right who, about two-thirds of the way through the film, decided she'd had enough, and spent the remainder asking her dad whether it was over and they could leave. Keep watching during the credits (of course)!
Also wanted to give a nod to Deadwood, which we've been watching on DVD (loaned to me by Crucible) for the last few days. This is really great character-driven western drama. Definitely worth a look provided you're not offended by ... well, anything.

Fellow Deadhead! Alright! My all-time, FAVORITE show on television. Ever!
I am so bummed that this is probably Deadwood's last year, though the good news is that a new season starts in less than 3 hours for me!

We're only about four episodes into season one here, Dave. It hasn't shown on Aussie tv at all yet ... I'm sure they're having a hard time working out what to do with the language. Having said that, I know we've had the "C" word (care of Sex and the City) on free-to-air TV once already down here, so maybe Deadwood will make it past the censors eventually.
