LAN Action
Yesterday I attended a LAN gaming party at Pete's place - the first we've had since I held one shortly after moving into my house, over two years ago.
The action kicked off just after lunch, probably at about 1pm, and it was 11pm before I even bothered to look at the time. That's a sign of a good LAN party.
We had a mix of old and new machines there, so we were limited to older games. We started off with some really old school action with the original Quake, trying both deathmatch and cooperative play. That was a real blast from the past.
Next was some Call of Duty, which I found to be an ordinary game. Just another first-person shooter in my book.
Total Annihilation, a 3D real-time strategy from a few years back, had to be the hit of the day. We played that for about three and a half hours straight, and I would have kept going but some of those with shorter attention spans were looking for something different.
The last PC game we played was Quake III, a game that I didn't much go for in its day, but had a bit of fun with last night.
Finally, just before leaving, I had my turn on the Mario Dance Dance Revolution mat, almost getting a perfect score. Only missed one or two!
So thanks Pete for a great day. I hope we won't wait another two years before the next party (and yeah, I'm quite happy to host it at my place)!
