Five Things You Don't Know About Me
Dave tagged me, so here goes:
- I practised karate for nearly twenty years, achieving a fifth degree black belt by the time I was 18. At one point my brother and I ran three classes a week, with the most students of any school outside of the capital cities.
- I never earned a degree from uni, dropping out of computer science after three years.
- Between uni and my first (and only) software development job, I worked as a bouncer at almost every nightclub and pub in Albury.
- I don't drink alchohol, and never have, except for a few stolen sips of dad's beer when I was a toddler (and one incident when I was about ten involving a small cup of warm sake and a good night's sleep).
- My surname technically isn't Hamilton. My great grandfather changed his name to Hamilton (from Smith) when he discovered that he had the same name as his prospective father-in-law. Apparently I'm actually related to Charles Kingsford Smith. I only found this out last year!
That was fun! I tag Pete, Euan, Andrew, Julie and Paul (for whom it won't be hard to find five things, since I don't know him at all).
