Death Cab For CutieOn Friday night I stayed up to watch the first showing of jtv, TripleJ radio's new TV program. It turned out to be pretty entertaining - a good mix of music and interviews.

Anyway, one set featured two of the guys from Death Cab For Cutie doing a cover of Billy Bragg's "You Woke Up My Neighbourhood". I know I've heard one or two of DCFC's songs on TripleJ in the past, but I was blown away.

So the next day I picked up their 2005 album, Plans. Wow. What an amazing sound they have. I'm going so systematically work my way through their back catalogue now.

Anyway - just a heads up for those who, like me, enjoy folksy alternative pop music. Death Cab For Cutie is well worth a listen. Don't want to buy the CD? That's ok - their web site plays their music as a soundtrack. Very cool.
