My Xbox 360 Wish
This afternoon I played a bit more Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. I finished it on normal difficulty a while back, and have been playing it through on hard difficulty. The end is in sight, but I have to say it has been a great game.
Having said that ... I'm starting to tire of the first-person-shooter genre. I'm very much looking forward to Will Wright's Spore (assuming it'll be a 360 title - not sure about that yet), but very few of the titles in the current round of 360 releases excite me.
So I was thinking about what kind of game I want to play on the 360, and today I worked it out.
I want Elite.
I want a game where I can fly a spaceship, buy and sell commodities, take part in space dogfights etc. However, it has to be a game I can pick up and play at any time without needing to worry about how far I am through it, or whether I need to "finish" it.
How cool would it be if Elite was released for the 360, updated with modern graphics and AI? I'd buy that for a dollar (or $115 or whatever the hell they're charging for Xbox 360 games out here).

Yeah I am getting a bit tired of FPS. I think I am getting FPS fatigue. Although I still enjoy BF2... but yeah need a new BF2... something like Quake Wars.
Currently I am playing F.E.A.R. which is good but still just another FPS. I am still looking forward to Ep2 on HL2... mainly for the story line I think.
I have recently got Age of Empires 3 which is pretty cool... I think it could get me back in to RTS' again. And there are a crap load coming in 2006/2007 too!
Then I will have RTS fatigue...
Really need to Wii to play something completely different.

Hell Yes! Elite FTW!
Frontier Developments have claimed to be working on Elite 4 for the last- oh, you know, ten years or so.
I really enjoyed what little I played of the Frontier series, and would settle for a less-than-perfect Elite 4... if they'd just get one out there. And then I'd buy progressively better sequels. But they really *really* need to ship it.

Yes Elite I loved that game and would also pay dollars to have an updated version , Imagine online against other eliters .. do u know of any similar games on xbox not 360 ?

Unfortunately, Krait (love the Elite reference) the space-trading genre has been hit for massive damage recently - there don't seem to be any decent games like Elite on consoles.
We live in hope.

i think their is alot of people wating for elite! i've been wating for about 10 years or so! any way some sales assistant said "star trek legacy is similar" does anyone know if thats true?

Nah, Star Trek Legacy is a tactical battle game, not a trading game. The two don't really share any similarities beyond being set in space.

Nothing yet as far as I know. I'm still hoping for an Xbox Live Arcade release of an Elite-style game.
